Privacy Policy

Effective October 7, 2026

Notice at Collection. Our Notice at Collection for California and other US state residents is in section 2 of our US State Privacy Notice (including California Notice at Collection and Nevada notice).

This Privacy Policy explains how BizMeet LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company ("BizMeet", "we", "us" or "our") handles personal information when you use the BizMeet app, our website at https://bizmeetapp.org, or email support. BizMeet is a professional networking service for adults who want to meet co-founders, collaborators and other professional contacts.

It covers what we collect, why we collect it, who can see it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. We have tried to keep it plain and specific. If anything is unclear, or you need this policy in another format, email us at contact@bizmeetapp.org.

Summary of key points

This summary is a quick guide. The full policy below controls.

1. Who we are and what this policy covers

BizMeet LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. BizMeet LLC is the only company involved in running BizMeet. We have no parent company, subsidiaries or affiliates that receive your information.

Email. contact@bizmeetapp.org

Website. https://bizmeetapp.org

Mailing address. BizMeet LLC, 2809 E Hamilton Ave, Unit #2177, Eau Claire, WI 54701

This policy applies to:

If we offer BizMeet for iPhone, we will update this policy first to describe anything that works differently on iPhone.

BizMeet does not run events, and this policy does not cover events organized by members or by anyone else.

Lawful professional networking. BizMeet is meant for lawful work and business, such as finding co-founders, collaborators, mentors, investors and other professional contacts. BizMeet does not offer jobs, and it is not an employment agency, job board or consumer reporting agency (see section 2 of our Terms of Service). We collect and use personal information only for the purposes in section 7, and disclose it only as sections 9 and 10 describe.

BizMeet is a small company. We do not have a dedicated privacy team, a data protection officer or a representative outside the United States. Privacy questions and requests sent to contact@bizmeetapp.org are handled by BizMeet LLC directly.

BizMeet is intended for residents of the United States. See the eligibility section of our Terms of Service.

2. Information you give us

Notice at collection

This section and sections 3 to 7 describe the categories of personal information we collect, where it comes from and how we use it. Section 13 explains how long we keep each category. We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising. The same information, arranged the way California law asks, is in section 2 of our US State Privacy Notice (including California Notice at Collection and Nevada notice).

Account

Email address and password. You sign up with an email address and a password of at least 8 characters. Your password goes directly to our authentication provider (Supabase Auth), which stores it in protected form. The BizMeet app never stores your password.

One-time codes. We email you a one-time code to confirm your email address and another when you reset your password. Resetting your password signs you out on your other devices.

Bot check. When you sign up, log in, ask for a new email confirmation code or reset your password, a short invisible check from Cloudflare Turnstile confirms the request comes from a person and not an automated program. It uses your IP address and signals from your browser engine and device. We receive only a pass or fail result.

Terms acceptance. When you create your account you tick a box to confirm you are 18 or older and agree to our Terms of Service. We record which version of the Terms you accepted and when, and ask you to accept again when an update requires it.

Profile

Basic details. Your first name (up to 50 characters), your date of birth, your city and region (for example, a city and state), and 2 to 6 photos.

Written answers. Your Professional Statement, what you are working on, and what you are looking for.

Profile choices. Your answers to our profile questions. These cover your networking goal, professional status, business sector, education level, networking preference, professional values, character, what you are open to, and languages. They also cover your business interests, additional networking interests, professional development, collaboration skills, industry culture and learning resources, plus your availability: typical hours, a weekly calendar of free times, and family availability.

Required and optional. To finish setup you must give your first name, birthday, location and at least 2 photos. You must also write a Professional Statement of at least 10 characters and answer these questions: professional status, business sector, education level, networking goal, networking preference, what you are open to, and languages. Everything else is optional.

What we do not ask for. We do not ask for your gender, sexual orientation, race or ethnicity, religion, health information, last name, employer, social media links or ID documents. Please do not include sensitive details like these in your statements or photos. If you connect LinkedIn for the verified badge, we receive the last name on that LinkedIn account, but we do not keep it (see LinkedIn below).

Photos

You can take a photo with your camera or choose one from your gallery. Before a photo leaves your phone, the app crops it to a 3:4 shape and saves a new JPEG copy no larger than 1080 by 1440 pixels. This new copy contains no EXIF data, so no GPS location, camera model or other hidden details are uploaded.

Photos are stored in private storage. They are not public web files. Only signed-in members who are allowed to see your profile can load them (see section 9). When you replace or remove a photo, we delete it from our storage, usually right away and otherwise within about a day.

Connections, messages and Priority messages

Connection requests. When you send a request, you can add a note of up to 300 characters. If the other member connects with you, whether by accepting your request or by connecting back from Discover or their visitors, your note is posted as your first message in your chat together.

Messages. Messages are text only, up to 4,000 characters each. You cannot send photos, files or voice messages in chat.

Priority messages. A Priority message is a paid request that shows your first name to the recipient right away (see section 9).

Safety tools

Reports. When you report a member, you choose one reason: Spam or scam, Fake job, money or investment offer, Harassment, Inappropriate content, Fake profile, Underage user, or Other. The app does not ask for a written description.

Reports by email. You can also report a problem by email. We receive whatever you choose to send, such as a description of what happened, the date, the member's first name and city, and screenshots. People who do not have a BizMeet account can report by email too.

Blocks and disconnects. We record who blocked or disconnected from whom, and when.

Settings

We store your settings: visibility toggles (hide age, hide location, hide online status, Incognito), notification mutes, your age and distance filters, and your choices on the Privacy choices screen. Your theme choice (light, dark or system) and your distance unit (miles or kilometers) are stored only on your phone.

Phone number

Get verified lets you confirm a phone number with a text message code. When you enter a US number, the app sends it to our server, which asks Twilio Verify to text you a code and then checks the code you enter; the number may appear in Twilio's logs and ours. A confirmed number is used only for the badge, never to sign in. After you confirm it, we keep only the last four digits and a fingerprint of the number (a code made from it with a secret key) instead of the number itself, which lets us make sure each number confirms only one account. It counts toward the verified badge together with a connected LinkedIn account. Other members see only the badge, never your number. Your mobile carrier's message and data rates may apply to the text with your code.

LinkedIn

Get verified also asks you to connect your LinkedIn account. When you do, you sign in on LinkedIn's own page in your phone's browser, then tap Finish in BizMeet to return to the app. LinkedIn sends our server your LinkedIn member ID, your first and last name, a link to your LinkedIn photo and your language setting. We keep only the member ID and your first name; your last name, the photo link and language are discarded right away. We do not ask LinkedIn for your email address, connections, job history or posts. We use what we keep only to confirm you have a LinkedIn account, to check that its first name matches your BizMeet first name, to show the verified badge, to keep each LinkedIn account connected to only one BizMeet account, and to help settle questions about which account a LinkedIn account belongs to. While you are verified, you cannot change your first name; disconnect LinkedIn first. We do not show your LinkedIn details to other members, and we never post to LinkedIn for you. LinkedIn's own privacy policy covers what LinkedIn does with your sign-in. You can disconnect LinkedIn in Get verified at any time, which deletes the connection and removes the badge. The connection is also deleted when you delete your account.

Support and privacy emails

If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach. We use it to answer you and keep a record of the request. The same applies to reports, copyright or trademark notices, intimate image removal requests and other requests you send by email.

3. Information created when you use BizMeet

Some information is created as you use the app:

Connections. Requests you send and receive, accepts, passes and declines, when each happened, whether a note or Priority message was attached, and whether a bought extra was used. A pass is stored like a decline.

Ended connections. When a connection ends because of a disconnect or a block, we keep a record of the pair and when the connection started and ended. We delete these records automatically within about 8 days after the connection ends.

Profile visits. When you open someone's full profile, we record a visit, at most once per viewer per profile per day. We do not record a visit if you are using Incognito, if either of you has blocked the other, if the other member has muted visit notifications or all notifications, or if either profile is unfinished or hidden from the viewer. We record at most 100 visits per viewer per day.

Notifications. Your in-app notifications list. A new-message notification says only "New message" and "Open BizMeet to read it." It never includes the message text. Notifications are deleted automatically 90 days after they are created.

Chat activity. When you last read each chat. We also keep a preview of the latest message in each chat and who sent it.

Last seen. While you are signed in, the app updates your last-seen time every 5 minutes. Our server uses its own clock for this.

Paid features. When you use boosts, unblurs and Priority messages, and your balance of extras you have bought.

Plan. Your plan (Free, Premium or VIP), when it started and when it expires.

Purchases and refunds. RevenueCat and Google Play transaction IDs, the product, the quantity credited, and any refunded or revoked amount. We do not store prices or payment details. We never receive your card number or other payment details; Google Play handles payment.

Billing ID. A random ID we create for you and give to RevenueCat, our purchase provider, instead of your BizMeet member ID. Before you sign in, RevenueCat's software uses an anonymous ID that it creates on your phone; when you sign in, it switches to your billing ID.

Push notification tokens. Up to 10 device tokens per member, each tied to a signed-in session, so we can send notifications to your devices.

Rate-limit records. The time of your last use of certain features, so we can stop spam and abuse. These records are deleted automatically a few days after your last use. For Get verified, we also record a fingerprint of each phone number a code is texted to and when, and delete that record automatically 7 days later, even if you delete your account sooner.

Moderation evidence. Copies of messages made when someone reports, blocks or disconnects (see section 13).

4. Where information comes from

You. Everything you enter in the app or send us by email.

Your device. Your approximate location, the city name your phone's built-in geocoder provides (on most Android phones, this lookup is handled by Google), and your push notification token.

Other members. Requests, messages, visits and reports that involve you, and anything they write about you in a message or an emailed report.

People who are not members. Anyone can email us, for example to report a member, send a copyright or trademark notice, or ask us to remove an intimate image. These emails can include information about you.

Google Play and RevenueCat. Purchase, renewal, cancellation, refund and entitlement information for your purchases.

Supabase. Sign-in and account security events. Supabase Auth records the IP address and device or browser details of your sign-in sessions and in its security logs. Supabase's system logs may also record this information when your app connects.

Cloudflare Turnstile. A pass or fail result from the bot check that runs when you sign up, log in, ask for a new email confirmation code or reset your password.

Twilio Verify. Whether the code you entered in Get verified is correct.

LinkedIn. If you connect LinkedIn in Get verified, your LinkedIn member ID and names (see section 2).

We do not use social media sign-in. LinkedIn is used only for the verified badge, and you never sign in to BizMeet with it. We do not get information about you from data brokers, background-check companies, or advertising or attribution partners. The app does not access your contacts, microphone, calendar or biometric data (such as fingerprint or face data).

5. Location

BizMeet uses your location to show your city to other members, to show how far apart you are, and to power the distance filter and the Near you filter.

Approximate location only. On Android, the app asks only for the approximate location permission. It never asks for precise location. Your phone's location services provide that approximate position; on most Android phones these are Google Play services, which handle location under Google's own terms.

Rounding on your phone. The app rounds your latitude and longitude to a 0.02-degree grid before doing anything else with them. This places you in a grid cell roughly 2 km across (a little narrower east to west in most of the United States). Our server rounds them again and checks that they are valid.

City name. Your phone's built-in geocoder, which on most Android phones is provided by Google, turns the rounded point into a city and region name, which we save on your profile. On those phones, the rounded point may be sent to Google to look up the city.

When the app reads your location

There is no background location and no tracking of your movements. We keep only your latest rounded point. Each update replaces the one before.

What other members see. Your city and your distance from them in whole miles or kilometers, as they choose (never less than 1). They never see your coordinates. If you turn on Hide location, other members see neither your city nor your distance.

A limit to be aware of. Distances are approximate, but a determined person who checks your distance from several places could narrow down the area you are in. If this concerns you, turn on Hide location.

Turning location off. On Android, open Settings, then Apps, then BizMeet, then Permissions, then Location, and choose Don't allow. After that the app cannot update your location. Your last saved approximate location stays on your profile until you update it, remove it or delete your account, so turn on Hide location if you do not want others to see it.

Removing your location. In Edit profile, tap Remove my location. This deletes your saved location and your city from BizMeet. The app then asks you to set a location again before you can keep using it, on any phone. Until you do, you do not appear in other members' Discover or Daily Picks. Your connections and chats are not affected.

6. Device, technical and on-device information

Push notifications. To send notifications, the app uses Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, which creates a device token and a Firebase installation ID for your copy of the app.

Purchases. The RevenueCat software in the app collects information it needs to process and verify purchases, such as purchase tokens and basic device and app details. RevenueCat describes what its software collects in its own privacy policy.

IP addresses and browser details. BizMeet's own app tables do not store your IP address or device model. Our sign-in provider, Supabase Auth, records the IP address and device or browser details (user agent) of your sign-in sessions and in its security logs. Our other service providers (Google, RevenueCat, and Cloudflare, which hosts our website and runs our bot check) may also record IP addresses and device or browser details in their system logs.

Stored on your phone. The app keeps some information on your device so it works smoothly: your sign-in session, your theme choice, your distance unit, your last-used Discover filter, the day's Daily Pick IDs, your progress through the app tour, RevenueCat's purchase cache and a cache of profile photos you have viewed. During sign-up, it also keeps a small record of the Terms version you agreed to, with your account ID and the time, so a restart does not lose your agreement. The app normally removes that record once our server has saved your agreement, and it ignores the record after 7 days. Signing out removes the Daily Pick IDs and the photo cache. Deleting your account in the app also removes your tour progress. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage removes all of these.

Crash reports. If the app hits an error while you are signed in and your Crash reports choice is on (it starts on), the app sends a report to BizMeet's own database: the error message, where in the app's code it happened, whether the app stopped, the app version and your phone's Android version, linked to your account. An error message can occasionally include a few words that were on screen. We use these reports only to find and fix problems. They are not shared with anyone, are deleted automatically 90 days after they are sent, and are deleted with your account. Turn the choice off in Settings, then Privacy choices, and the app stops sending them. No reports are sent while you are signed out.

What we do not use. BizMeet does not use analytics tools, outside crash-reporting services or advertising IDs. We do not collect data about which features you use.

Overall statistics from our providers. Google Play and Cloudflare show us overall statistics about the app and our website, such as install and uninstall counts, ratings, crash and stability rates reported through Google Play, and website visits by country. These are totals and averages: they don't identify you, and we don't link them to your account. Google collects the app figures under its own privacy policy and the settings on your phone.

7. How we use information

We use personal information only for the purposes below.

PurposeInformation we use
Create and run your accountEmail, password (handled by Supabase Auth), one-time codes, sign-in sessions, settings, and the last four digits and fingerprint of your phone number if you use Get verified

What we do not do. We do not use personal information for advertising, and we do not sell it. We do not use it to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models, including large language models. We do not use it to infer health conditions or other sensitive traits.

Emails and texts. We send account emails, such as confirmation and password reset codes. We do not send marketing emails today. Before we start, we will update this policy and ask for your permission in the app (see section 11), and every marketing email will include a simple way to unsubscribe. We do not send marketing text messages. The app may show banners about BizMeet's own plans and offers. These are not based on your activity outside BizMeet. We do not offer discounts, extras or other benefits in exchange for your personal information.

Service messages you can't turn off. While you have an account, we still send the messages it needs: sign-in and verification codes, security notices (such as a password change or a data breach), notices about changes to our Terms, this policy or prices, decisions about reports and your account, and notices about your subscription and purchases. These are not marketing. They stop when you delete your account. Push notifications are separate, and you can mute them in the app or in your phone's settings.

How we review reports and look for misuse

A person reviews reports. When a member reports someone, a person at BizMeet reviews the report. We look at the reason chosen, the moderation copies of the chat (see section 13), the reported member's profile and photos, anything the reporter emailed us, and other records that help us understand what happened, such as earlier reports about the same member. We do not use automated tools to scan profiles, photos or messages, and we do not have a round-the-clock review team.

When we read messages. We read the text of messages only to review a report, block or disconnect, to respond to a legal request or an emergency that involves a risk of serious harm, or when you ask us for help with a conversation.

Scams and unlawful work. We use these reviews to find and act against fake profiles, impersonation, scams and other misuse. This includes fake job and task offers, requests to move money or packages, off-the-books work, investment schemes and spam, which section 6 of our Terms of Service prohibits. Our rate limits and bot check (see sections 2 and 15) also slow down spam and automated accounts.

What we may do. Depending on what we find, we may remove content, warn the member, delete the account, preserve evidence or report the matter to the authorities where the law allows, as section 11 of our Terms of Service describes. A person makes each of these decisions. If you think we got one wrong, you can appeal by emailing contact@bizmeetapp.org within 6 months.

8. How Discover, Daily Picks and other features use your data

BizMeet uses simple, fixed rules to order and filter profiles. There is no machine learning.

Discover order. Our server shows members with an active boost first (a boost lasts 30 minutes), then members who were active most recently. For members who hide their online status, we use the day they were last active rather than the exact time. Ties are broken by a random order that changes daily.

Who appears in Discover. Only finished profiles with a saved location. You will not see yourself, members you have blocked or who have blocked you, members you have already requested or passed, or members who have already answered or passed you. Incognito members do not appear, except an Incognito member who has sent you a request that you have unblurred (see section 9).

Filters

Daily Picks (VIP). Your phone scores the Discover profiles it has already received. The score is based on a shared networking goal, shared interests and collaboration skills, shared open-to answers, shared languages, the same business sector, verified status and how complete the profile is. Your phone saves the top 5 picks for the day. Daily Picks are not calculated on our servers.

In common (VIP). VIP members can see which answers they share with another member: networking goal, sector, professional status, education, networking preference, open-to answers, languages, interests and free times.

No significant automated decisions. We do not use automated moderation or content scanning. Reports are reviewed by a person. We do not use your data to make decisions about jobs, credit, housing, insurance or anything else with legal or similarly significant effects.

Questions about how these features work can go to contact@bizmeetapp.org.

9. What other members can see

Shown to other members. Your first name, photos, Professional Statement, what you are working on, what you are looking for, and all your profile choice answers, including your availability calendar and schedule flexibility. Also your verified badge if you have one (it shows only that you confirmed a phone number, never the number itself).

Work and hiring answers. Answers such as a networking goal of Job opportunities or Hiring / recruiting, or being open to Full-time roles or Freelance / contract work, are part of your profile. Other members, including members who are hiring, can see them. We use them to show your profile, run the Same goal filter and suggest members. We do not give them to employers, recruiters or data brokers outside the app. Our service providers handle them for us, and we disclose them only as section 10 describes.

Not public on the web. Only signed-in members can see profiles, and only in the app. BizMeet has no public profile pages, so search engines cannot list your profile.

Security test accounts. Security researchers who follow our Security and Vulnerability Disclosure Policy may test BizMeet with their own accounts. These accounts say "Security test account" in the Professional Statement and may appear in Discover. Researchers must not contact members or open their full profiles, and they must not keep any member data they come across. You can pass on these accounts like any other profile.

Shown unless you hide it. Your age, your city, your distance from them, and the exact time you were last seen. Hide age hides your age, Hide location hides your city and distance, and Hide online status hides your last-seen time.

Never shown to other members. Your birthday, email address, phone number, LinkedIn details, coordinates, settings, filters, plan, boosts or privacy choices.

Requests and Visitors. Incoming requests and profile visitors are blurred. Until the recipient spends an unblur, the app does not receive who sent the request or visited, or any note or photo. Before unblurring, the recipient can see only whether a request includes a note and whether it is a Priority message. If the recipient is a VIP member, they also see a yes or no hint about whether the two of you share interests before unblurring, and the number of shared interests after unblurring.

Priority messages. A Priority message shows your first name to the recipient right away. Their push notification includes your first name only if it is a plain name; otherwise it says "Someone". Other notifications never include a name.

Read receipts. Only Premium and VIP members can see when the other person read their messages, and never if that person hides their online status.

Declined requests. We never tell you that someone declined or passed on your request. It keeps showing as pending.

Incognito. Incognito is available only to Premium and VIP members, and it stops when your plan ends. While it is on, you are hidden from Discover, from the paid filters, and from profile and photo lookups. Two groups can still see you: members you are already connected with, and members you have sent a request to, but only after they unblur or accept your request. Your profile visits are not recorded while you are Incognito.

Blocks. When you block someone, you are hidden from each other and the chat between you is deleted for both of you. Only you can see whom you have blocked.

Screenshots and caches. Other members can take screenshots of, copy or pass on what you show or send them, and we cannot stop this. A copy someone else makes can last after you change your profile, after a chat is deleted, or after you delete your account. Your photos may also stay in the photo cache on other members' phones for a while after you change them or delete your account, usually up to 30 days after the photo was last shown on that phone. See our Cookie and Similar Technologies Policy.

Information you get from other members

Sections 6 and 9 of our Terms of Service and section 9 of our Community Guidelines set the rules for using information other members share with you. In short, use it only for the conversation or opportunity it was shared for, and never sell it, publish it, add it to lists or use it to decide anyone's eligibility for work, credit, insurance or housing.

BizMeet is not responsible for how other members handle information you choose to share with them. Members who misuse other members' information can lose their accounts.

10. Who we share information with

Service providers

We use a small number of companies to run BizMeet. They process information to provide their services to us, under their terms of service and privacy commitments.

Our email providerHosts the mailbox where we receive and keep emails sent to contact@bizmeetapp.orgEmails you send us, anything you attach, and our replies

Legal and safety reasons

We may share information when we believe in good faith that it is needed to:

Preserving information. For the same reasons, we may keep a copy of information that would otherwise be deleted. For example, when law enforcement asks us to preserve records while it obtains legal process, we keep a copy for the time section 13 describes.

Copyright complaints. If someone sends us a copyright notice about your content, we may send you a copy, including the sender's name and contact details, so you can respond. If you send a counter-notice, we send it, including your name, postal address and phone number, to the person who sent the original notice. See our Copyright and Trademark Policy (DMCA).

When we receive a legal request for a member's information, we try to notify that member before we disclose it, unless the law prohibits notice, there is an emergency, the case involves child exploitation, notice would put someone at risk, or the account appears to be compromised. An agency that wants us to hold notice for an investigation must send a court order that prohibits it. See our Law Enforcement Guide.

Business changes

If BizMeet LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, dissolution or bankruptcy, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. The new owner must honor this policy for information collected under it, or give you notice and the choices the law requires.

With your consent

We share information in other ways only if you ask us to or agree to it.

What we never do

We do not sell personal information, and we have not sold any in the past 12 months. We do not share it for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not disclose it to other companies for their own direct marketing. We do not work with data brokers or advertising partners. We do not sell or rent member information to anyone. Outside the app, we do not give it to employers, recruiters, staffing firms, background-check companies or lead-generation services, except as this section describes (service providers, legal process and business transfers). Our Terms of Service forbid members from scraping BizMeet or using member data to build lists or databases (section 6). Because BizMeet is only for adults, we have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing information about anyone under 16. Nevada residents may still send a request not to have their information sold to contact@bizmeetapp.org, and we will respond within 60 days.

11. Your choices and controls

Edit your profile. You can change your profile at any time in the app. Your date of birth is locked after setup. If it is wrong, email us. Your email address cannot be changed in the app, so email us from your current address to change it.

Visibility. Hide age, Hide location and Hide online status are off until you turn them on. Premium and VIP members can also turn on Incognito.

Notifications. You can mute messages, connection requests, accepts, visits or all notifications. When a type is muted, our server does not create that notification at all. For example, muted visits leave no visit record.

Android permissions. You control location and notification permissions in Android settings. The app asks for notification permission only after you finish setup. When you add a photo, the app opens Android's camera or photo picker, and only the photo you take or choose is used.

Safety tools. You can block, disconnect from or report any member.

Privacy choices screen. Settings, then Privacy choices, holds these switches. Each one applies only while it is on, and turning it off stops it.

BizMeet does not record which features you use, personalize offers, advertise on other apps or sites, or send research invitations or marketing emails today. BizMeet has no marketing partners and does not sell or share your personal information (see section 12). So the app has no switches for these uses.

Before BizMeet starts any of these uses, or any other use that this section says it does not do today, we will update this policy, tell you in the app, and ask for your permission with a switch that starts off. We will not rely on a switch that was turned on before that update.

Uninstalling. Uninstalling the app does not delete your account. To delete your account, see section 14.

12. Your privacy rights and how to use them

We give these rights to every BizMeet member in the United States, whatever state you live in:

Access. Ask what personal information we have about you and get a copy. The app has no export button, so request a copy by email.

Portability. Get your information in a common, machine-readable format.

Correction. Ask us to fix information that is wrong. You can fix most of it yourself in the app.

Deletion. Delete your account in the app, or ask us to delete it.

Withdraw permission. Turn off device permissions or notification types at any time.

Opt out of sale, targeted advertising and profiling. We do not sell your personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or use it for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects, so there is nothing you need to opt out of. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and give you a way to opt out before it starts.

Appeal. Ask us to reconsider if we turn down your request.

No discrimination. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

How to ask. Use the in-app tools where they exist, or email contact@bizmeetapp.org from the email address on your BizMeet account.

Verifying you. To protect your account, we match each request to your account's email address. Before we send you a copy of your data or delete anything, we send a confirmation code or link to that address and act only after you confirm it. We send copies of your data only to your account email. We use verification information only to verify you.

Authorized agents. Someone can make a request for you if they send us your signed permission. We may still ask you to confirm the request from your account email.

Timing. We acknowledge requests within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we may extend this once by up to 45 more days and will tell you why.

Cost. Requests are free.

When we may say no. We may refuse all or part of a request if we cannot verify you, if answering would expose another member's personal information, or if the law requires us to keep the information (for example, for a legal hold or tax records). We will tell you why.

Appeals. If we turn down your request, reply to our answer or email contact@bizmeetapp.org with "Appeal" in the subject line. We will send you a written decision, with our reasons, within 45 days. If we deny your appeal, we will tell you how to contact your state attorney general.

Messages you sent. You cannot delete single messages. Messages you sent stay in the other member's chat until that chat is deleted. A chat is deleted when either member blocks or disconnects, or when either member deletes their account. Deleting your account deletes all your chats for both members.

For more detail on state privacy rights, see our US State Privacy Notice (including California Notice at Collection and Nevada notice). For health-related information under Washington, Nevada and Connecticut law, see our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy (Washington, Nevada, Connecticut).

13. How long we keep information

InformationHow long we keep it
Account and profile (email, the last four digits and fingerprint of a verified phone number, name, birthday, photos, answers, settings)Until you delete your account
Sign-in credentials (your email and protected password, held by Supabase Auth)Until you delete your account
LinkedIn connection (member ID and first name)Until you disconnect LinkedIn or delete your account
Terms acceptances (which version and when)Until you delete your account
Sign-in session and security logs (IP address, device or browser details)Sessions are deleted when you sign out or delete your account. Security log entries can remain after you delete your account. They do not have an automatic deletion date.
Messages, chat read times, notifications, visits and passesWhile your account is open. Notifications are deleted automatically 90 days after they are created. A chat is deleted sooner if either member blocks or disconnects. A chat is also deleted when the other member deletes their account. All of it is deleted when you delete your account.
Ended connectionsDeleted automatically within about 8 days after the connection ends, or with your account
Blocks, unblurs, bought-extra balances, plan details and privacy choicesUntil you delete your account. A block is removed if you unblock.
BoostsDeleted automatically 8 days after the boost starts, or with your account
Moderation evidenceCopies from a report: about 180 days after they are made. Copies from a block or disconnect: 30 days, or about 180 days if a report about that member follows within those 30 days. This applies even after either account is deleted. Our cleanup runs daily.
ReportsKept for as long as needed to protect members, handle disputes and enforce our rules. When an account is deleted, its member ID is removed from the report. Open reports are kept until we have reviewed them. Reviewed reports are deleted automatically 2 years after the report was made.
Purchase and refund recordsKept for tax, accounting and fraud prevention, for as long as those laws require. Your member ID is removed when you delete your account.
Support and privacy emails, including emailed reportsKept in our email account while needed to answer you and keep a record of the request, and no longer than 3 years. We delete older support emails at least once a year.
Copyright and trademark notices and counter-notices, and our record of copyright notices against each accountThe notices and counter-notices themselves follow the support and privacy emails row above. Our internal record of valid copyright notices against each account is kept while needed to apply our repeat-infringer policy and to handle legal claims. That record does not have a fixed deletion date.
RevenueCat and Google Play recordsKept by those companies under their own policies
Push notification tokensUntil you sign out or delete your account. A token is deleted sooner if it stops working, within a day after the sign-in session it belongs to ends (for example after a password reset), or after 60 days if the app has not refreshed it.
LocationReplaced each time it is updated. Deleted when you tap Remove my location, or with your account.
Crash reportsDeleted automatically 90 days after they are sent, or with your account
Rate-limit recordsDeleted automatically a few days after your last use of the feature, or with your account. Records of the phone number fingerprints a Get verified code was texted to are deleted 7 days after the text, even if you delete your account sooner.
Provider logs and backupsKept for rolling periods set by our providers, then overwritten
Records preserved at law enforcement's request90 days, or 180 days if the agency renews its request in time. Longer only if valid legal process requires it.
Content we report to NCMEC, and related account informationOne year after we report it, as federal law requires, and longer if law enforcement asks us to preserve it
Information under a legal holdUntil the legal matter is resolved

Moderation evidence. When a member reports someone, we copy up to the 100 most recent messages in their chat. When a member blocks or disconnects, we copy up to the 500 most recent messages. Each copy keeps the first 1,000 characters of each message, who sent it, when, and the IDs of both members. We use these copies only to review reports, enforce our rules, protect members and meet legal obligations.

RevenueCat. When you delete your account, we do not automatically delete your customer record at RevenueCat. That record is linked to your random billing ID and your Google Play purchase details, not to your name or email address. We delete the billing ID from our records when you delete your account. If you ask us by email, we will ask RevenueCat to delete its record too.

Backups. Deleted information may remain in our providers' backups and logs for a limited time until they are overwritten. We cannot guarantee immediate removal from backups.

Returning members. We do not keep any record designed to recognize a removed member who signs up again. Before we add one, we will update this policy.

Inactive accounts. We do not close or delete accounts because they are inactive. Your account and its data stay until you delete it, or until we remove it under our Terms of Service. Before we close any account for inactivity, we will update this policy and email you.

14. Deleting your account

In the app. Go to Settings, then Account, then Delete account. Type DELETE to confirm, then enter your account password. For your security, our server deletes an account only for a sign-in made in the last 10 minutes, and entering your password provides that. The option is also available during setup.

What happens. If you have a subscription that will keep renewing, the app warns you first. Then we delete your account and everything linked to it right away, and then your photos. If the law requires us to preserve your account, for example under a legal hold, we close it right away instead: it disappears from BizMeet, you are signed out and can't sign back in, and we finish deleting it when we are no longer required to keep it. If a photo can't be removed at that moment, a daily cleanup removes it. This includes your profile, email address, phone number, LinkedIn connection, location, connections, all your chats and messages (for both members), notifications, visits, blocks, unblurs, boosts, bought extras, push tokens, privacy choices and Terms acceptance records. Bought extras cannot be restored after deletion.

What we keep. Some records stay after deletion, as described in section 13: moderation evidence (copies of messages, including the member IDs of both people, deleted on the schedule in section 13), reports and purchase records with your member ID removed, sign-in security log entries, emails you sent us, copyright notice records, any records we have preserved for legal reasons, records held by Google Play, RevenueCat and Twilio, and our providers' logs and backups.

Cancel your subscription separately. Deleting your account does not cancel a Google Play subscription. To cancel, open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile picture, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, choose BizMeet and tap Cancel subscription. You can also use Manage subscription in BizMeet's Settings before you delete your account.

Without the app. If you no longer have the app, visit https://bizmeetapp.org/delete-account or email contact@bizmeetapp.org from your account's email address. We accept requests only from that address and complete them within 30 days.

If a member has died. A family member or the estate's representative can ask us to delete the account by email. We ask for reasonable proof, and we do not give anyone access to the account or its messages. See Delete Your BizMeet Account.

15. Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including:

No system is completely secure. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted, so they are stored on our servers in a form our systems can read. BizMeet does not offer two-step sign-in, so use a strong password you do not use anywhere else.

If there is a breach. If a security breach affects your personal information, we will notify affected members without unreasonable delay, and no later than 45 days after we learn of the breach, unless law enforcement asks us to wait. Where a state law requires notice sooner, we will meet that deadline. We will also notify regulators where the law requires.

Protect your account. Never share your one-time codes with anyone, including someone claiming to be from BizMeet. If you think someone else has access to your account, reset your password and email us right away. To report a security issue, see our Security and Vulnerability Disclosure Policy.

Job offers and requests for your details. BizMeet will never offer you a job, and we will never ask you in a chat for your password, a one-time code, your Social Security number, or your bank or card details. A member who asks for these, especially as part of a job or business offer, may be running a scam. Report them, and see section 3 of our Safety Policy and Safety Tips.

16. Age requirement and children

BizMeet is only for adults 18 and older. It is not directed to children.

The app blocks anyone who enters a birthday under 18 during setup, and our server rejects any birth date less than 18 years ago. BizMeet does not knowingly accept members under 18 or gather information about them. If we find that we have, we delete it.

If you believe a member is under 18, report them in the app using the Underage user reason, or email safety@bizmeetapp.org. Parents and guardians can contact us the same way. If we learn that a member is under 18, we delete the account. See our Child Safety Standards.

If we receive age information from Google Play or Apple, we will use it only to enforce our 18+ rule and keep it only as long as needed for that purpose.

17. Sensitive information

We treat your sign-in credentials and the contents of your messages (including moderation copies) as sensitive. We use them only to provide BizMeet, keep members safe and secure our service. We never use them to infer things about you.

Your saved location is rounded to a grid roughly 2 km across. Some state laws treat location within about 1,750 to 1,850 feet as precise geolocation; our rounding is well beyond that, so we do not collect precise geolocation. We still treat your saved location with care: we use it only to show your city and distance and to run the distance and Near you filters, we never sell it, and you can hide it at any time.

We do not collect health information, biometric data or facial recognition data. We do not ask about gender, sexual orientation, race, religion or immigration status. We do not set up geofences around health care facilities or any other places.

Please avoid putting sensitive details, such as health conditions, religious beliefs or financial information, in your statements, photos or messages. Anything you share with another member can be seen and kept by them. Never send your Social Security number, bank or card details, tax forms or ID documents in a chat, even to someone who offers you work. Give them only to an employer or business you have checked yourself, through its official hiring or payment process. For more on health-related information, see our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy (Washington, Nevada, Connecticut).

18. Cookies, Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Cookies. The BizMeet app does not use cookies. Our website does not set cookies of its own and does not use analytics scripts, tracking pixels or forms. Cloudflare, our website host, may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the site, and may set a strictly necessary security cookie to protect the site. Cloudflare also adds its own bot-detection script to our pages, and asks your browser to report failed page loads on our site to Cloudflare for up to 7 days. Our site's security settings stop that script from running. See our Cookie and Similar Technologies Policy.

Tracking across other sites and apps. We do not use advertising or analytics tools that track you across other websites or apps.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. We treat a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. Because we already do not sell or share personal information for advertising, these signals do not change how BizMeet works.

19. Where your data is processed

BizMeet LLC and its service providers are based in the United States. Our database, sign-in and photo storage are hosted by Supabase in the United States (Amazon Web Services, US East, Ohio). Other providers may process information wherever they operate.

BizMeet is intended for residents of the United States. If we expand to other countries, such as those in the European Union or the United Kingdom, we will add the notices those countries' laws require before we launch there.

21. Changes to this policy

We review this policy at least once every 12 months and update it when our practices change. Each version shows the date it takes effect, and we keep copies of earlier versions that you can request at contact@bizmeetapp.org.

If we make a material change, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. We will ask for your permission before using information we already have for a new purpose that this policy did not describe.
