Delete Your BizMeet Account

Effective October 7, 2026

This page explains how to delete your account in the BizMeet app, published by BizMeet LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company. You can delete your account at any time, in the app or by email. Deleting is permanent. We cannot restore an account, its connections or its chats once it is gone.

Before you delete, check your subscription. Deleting your account does not cancel Google Play billing. If you have Premium or VIP, cancel it in Google Play first (see "Subscriptions and extras" below).

If you are leaving because a member scammed, threatened or harassed you, report them in the app before you delete. Deleting your account removes your chats without saving a copy, while a report saves a copy of recent messages for us to review. Take screenshots of anything you may need later, for example for the police.

Delete in the app

You can delete your account yourself, right from the app. This is the fastest way.

For your security, our server deletes an account only for a sign-in made in the last 10 minutes, and entering your password provides that. If you forgot your password, log out and use Forgot password on the sign-in screen first.

You can also delete your account while you are still setting up your profile, before you finish setup.

If the app knows your Premium or VIP subscription is set to keep renewing, it reminds you before you confirm. Either way, check Google Play before you delete. You can cancel there first, or go ahead anyway.

When you confirm, the app checks your password. Our server then deletes your account and then your photos, and the app signs you out on this device and removes this device's push notification token. If your password is wrong, nothing is deleted. If something else goes wrong, the app shows an error and nothing is deleted. If the law requires us to preserve your account, for example under a legal hold, we close it right away instead: it disappears from BizMeet, you are signed out and can't sign back in, and we finish deleting it when we are no longer required to keep it. You can try again, or email us. If a photo can't be removed right after your account is deleted, a daily cleanup removes it.

Delete without the app

If you no longer have the app or cannot sign in, you can ask us to delete your account by email.

We only act on requests that come from the email address on the account. Before we delete anything, we reply to that address and ask you to confirm. We confirm we received your request within 10 business days, and we complete verified requests within 30 days and tell you when your account is deleted.

An email deletion removes the same data as deleting in the app.

Someone you authorize can also ask on your behalf. They need to send your signed permission, and we may ask you to confirm the request directly from your account email.

If you no longer have access to that email address but still know your password, you can sign in and delete your account in the app.

If a member has died

If a BizMeet member has died, a family member or the representative of their estate can ask us to delete the account. Email contact@bizmeetapp.org with the subject line "Deceased member". Tell us the member's first name, the email address they used for BizMeet if you know it, and your relationship to them, and include reasonable proof of death, such as an obituary or a death certificate. We will not give anyone access to the account or its messages. When we confirm the request, we delete the account in the same way as any other deletion.

If the member had a Premium or VIP subscription, it keeps renewing in Google Play until it is cancelled, so the person who manages their Google account should cancel it there too. Refunds follow Google Play's refund policies and the law, as section 15 of our Terms of Service explains. The estate can ask Google Play, or email us, about a refund under that section.

Keep your account, remove some data

Want to remove some data but keep your account? You can edit or remove most profile details and photos in Edit profile, and change your privacy choices in Settings. To delete your saved location and city, tap Remove my location in Edit profile. We delete notifications automatically 90 days after they are created. For anything else, email contact@bizmeetapp.org and tell us what you want deleted.

What gets deleted

When your account is deleted, we delete:

What we keep and for how long

A few records stay after deletion, for safety, legal and accounting reasons. The table below lists them and how long we keep them. For more detail, see our Privacy Policy.

RecordWhat staysHow long
Moderation evidenceCopies of recent messages (up to the first 1,000 characters of each), with the member IDs, saved when someone reported, blocked or disconnected from a chat you were inReport copies about 180 days after they were made; block and disconnect copies after 30 days, or about 180 days if a report follows. Our cleanup runs daily.
ReportsThe report reason, status and date, with your member ID removedOpen reports stay until we review them; reviewed reports are deleted automatically 2 years after they were made. Your member ID is removed at deletion. For up to 180 days, related moderation evidence (above) may still link the report to your member ID.
Get verified text recordsFingerprints of the phone numbers a verification code was texted to and when, with your member ID removedDeleted 7 days after each text
Purchase and refund recordsProduct, quantity, dates and store transaction IDs, with your member ID removedAs long as needed for tax, accounting and refund handling
RevenueCatPurchase and subscription records linked to your random billing IDKept with our purchase records, as long as needed for tax, accounting and refund handling. If you email us, we will ask RevenueCat to delete its record.

Provider logs and backupsTechnical logs (which can include your email address and IP address) and database backups kept by Supabase, Resend and Google FirebaseFor each provider's set retention period, then deleted or overwritten
Legal holdsInformation we must keep by law, or to handle a legal claim or a valid legal requestOnly as long as needed for that purpose

Moderation evidence

When you or another member reports, blocks or disconnects in a chat, we save copies of recent messages from that chat (up to the latest 100 for a report, and up to the latest 500 for a block or disconnect) so we can review safety problems. These copies are stored separately from your account, so deleting your account does not remove them. Copies from a report are deleted about 180 days after they were saved; copies from a block or disconnect after 30 days, or about 180 days if a report follows. We keep a copy longer only when the law requires it, for example after a report to NCMEC or a valid preservation request.

RevenueCat and Google Play

We process purchases through Google Play and a service called RevenueCat, which works for us. RevenueCat knows your account only by a random billing ID and the device and app details its software collects, not by your name or email. Google Play keeps your order and subscription history in your Google account under Google's own policies. We cannot delete records held by Google.

Logs and backups

Our providers keep technical logs and backups for a limited time. Deleted data may remain in these until the provider's retention period ends and the data is overwritten. We do not restore deleted accounts from backups. If we ever have to restore our database from a backup, we will delete again any account that was deleted after that backup was made.

Subscriptions and extras

DELETING YOUR BIZMEET ACCOUNT DOES NOT CANCEL YOUR GOOGLE PLAY SUBSCRIPTION. Premium and VIP renew every week until you cancel them in Google Play. If you delete your account without cancelling, Google Play will keep charging you every week until you cancel.

To cancel a subscription on your Android phone:

You can also cancel on the web at https://play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions while signed in to the same Google account you used to subscribe. In BizMeet, Settings has a Manage subscription option that opens the right page in Google Play.

If you delete your account, you lose Premium or VIP access right away, even if your paid week has not ended.

Cancelling stops future renewals. It does not by itself refund past charges.

If you were charged after you deleted your account, cancel the subscription in Google Play first. Then ask Google Play for a refund, or email contact@bizmeetapp.org with your Google Play order number (it starts with GPA.) so we can find the purchase. We no longer have your account details, so the order number is how we find it.

Unused extras you bought (requests, boosts, unblurs or Priority messages) are lost when you delete your account. We do not refund them, except as described in our Terms of Service.

Google Play may refund a purchase made within about the last 48 hours. If you want a refund, ask Google Play (or see section 15 of our Terms of Service) before you delete your account. Refunds go through Google Play.

Other things to know

Uninstalling is not deleting. Removing the app from your phone does not delete your account or cancel your subscription. Use Delete account in the app, or email us.

Photos on other phones. We delete your photos from our storage. The BizMeet app on other members' phones may keep a cached copy of photos they already viewed. BizMeet stops showing those photos once your profile is gone, but the cached files can stay on that phone until its cache is cleared or the app is removed. We cannot reach into other members' devices.

Things other members already have. We cannot delete notifications already shown on another member's phone, or screenshots and notes other members made themselves.

Deals and agreements. Deleting your account does not cancel any deal, hire, partnership or other agreement you made with another member, or any duty you owe under it. Those arrangements are between you and that member, as section 2 of our Terms of Service explains. Before you delete, save the contact details and terms you need, because your chats will be gone and we cannot restore them.

Your own phone. Deleting your account signs you out and removes this device's push token. It also removes the day's Daily Pick list, your tour progress and cached photos from this phone. Some data stays on your phone until you uninstall the app or clear its data: app preferences such as your theme, distance unit and Discover filter, and data kept by the Google Play billing and push notification components.

Starting over. If you sign up again later, you start with a brand-new account. Your old profile, photos, connections, chats and unused extras do not come back. If your Premium or VIP subscription is still active in Google Play, you may be able to move it to the new account with Restore purchases in Settings, using the same Google account. If we removed your account for breaking our Terms of Service or Community Guidelines, our rules do not allow you to create a new one.
