Accessibility Statement
Effective October 7, 2026
This statement explains how BizMeet LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company ("BizMeet", "we", "us") approaches accessibility. It covers the standard we aim for, the accessibility features we have built, the gaps we know about, and how to reach us if something gets in your way.
1. Our commitment
We want everyone to be able to use BizMeet, including people with disabilities and people who use assistive technology.
Accessibility is ongoing work, not a box we have ticked. We build features with accessibility in mind, fix problems as we find them, and update this statement when things change.
2. Scope
This statement covers:
- The BizMeet app for Android.
- Our website at https://bizmeetapp.org, including our legal pages and our support and account deletion pages.
If we offer BizMeet for iPhone, we will add the iPhone app to this statement.
Some screens you see while using BizMeet are made by other companies, and we cannot change them. These include the Google Play screens for buying packs and for buying, managing and cancelling subscriptions. They also include Android system screens, such as permission prompts, the camera and the photo picker. LinkedIn's sign-in page is another. It opens in your phone's browser when you connect LinkedIn in Get verified. Those companies publish their own accessibility information.
Profiles, photos and messages are written and uploaded by members. We do not control how accessible that content is.
3. Standard we aim for
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. We use these guidelines for the website, and we apply them to the Android app where they fit a native mobile app, following the W3C guidance on applying WCAG to non-web software.
This is a goal. We do not claim that BizMeet fully conforms to WCAG 2.2 AA, and no outside party has certified or audited it. We do not use an accessibility overlay or any tool that claims to make a site or app compliant automatically.
WCAG 2.2 builds on WCAG 2.1, so meeting our goal would also meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We give priority to safety information, including our Safety Policy and Safety Tips.
4. Accessibility features in the app
These features are built into the BizMeet Android app, based on a review of the app's code.
Screen reader labels. Custom controls have text labels in the code that screen readers such as TalkBack can announce. These include on and off switches, the buttons on Discover cards, Daily Picks cards, the tiles on the Activity screen, the perk sheets, and the check marks and crosses in Compare plans. We confirmed these labels in the code but have not tested them end to end with TalkBack (see section 7).
Button names. Most buttons that show only an icon have a spoken name, so a screen reader can announce what they do. The app does not show a visible tooltip for them.
Buttons for card actions. On a Discover card, the pass, connect, message request and Priority message actions are on-screen buttons with spoken names. Cards are never swiped; you can swipe across a photo, or tap its edges, to see the next one. We confirmed these buttons in the app's code.
Text size. The app follows the text size you set on your phone. It does not lock text to a fixed size.
Narrow screens. We design layouts to work on screens and windows as narrow as 280 dp. We have not tested every screen at the largest text sizes.
Themes. You can choose a light theme, a dark theme, or follow your phone's setting. Following your phone's setting is the default.
Reduced motion. When you turn on the Android setting to remove animations, most of the app's own animations are turned off. Some still play. They are listed in section 6.
Selectable legal text. You can select and copy the text of our legal documents in the app, for example to paste it into a translation or reading tool.
5. Accessibility on the website
Our website at https://bizmeetapp.org is a small set of static pages. It includes:
- A responsive layout that adapts to phones, tablets and computers, and allows zooming.
- Light and dark colors that follow your device's color theme.
- Headings in a logical order, with main content and navigation marked up as such.
- The page language set to English, so screen readers use the right voice.
- Standard links with a visible outline when they receive keyboard focus.
- Animations and transitions turn off when your device asks for reduced motion.
The site uses standard HTML links and no custom menus, pop-ups or forms. We have not formally tested every page using only a keyboard, so we do not claim full keyboard support.
6. Known limitations
We know about the following gaps. We work on them over time, and we update this statement as we fix them.
- Color contrast has not been audited in the app or on the website. Some text or icons may not have enough contrast with their background.
- Some animations still play when your phone asks for reduced motion: the splash screen, the celebration screens during profile setup, the animated card and badge in the app tour, the short fade between screens, and a few small fades, such as in Settings and the weekly availability calendar.
- The button that shows or hides your password on the sign-in, sign-up and password reset screens does not have a spoken name.
- Member photos have no text descriptions. Photos are uploaded by members, and the app does not ask for or create descriptions.
- On a Discover card, you switch photos by tapping the left or right edge of the photo. A screen reader cannot do this on the card. Screen reader users can open the full profile instead, where the photos are in a standard scrolling view. We have not tested this with TalkBack.
- Hidden requests and visitors show as tiles with blurred stock images, not the member's own photo. The stock image has no description.
- A screen reader reads the text on these tiles, such as "Possible connection", but does not announce the tile as a button.
- Email confirmation and password reset use a one-time code that we email to you. The code expires after a short time. You can paste the code from your email. If it expires, you can ask for a new one: use Resend code on the email confirmation screen, or start the password reset again. If this is hard for you, email us and we will help.
- Sign-up, log-in, code resend and password reset run an invisible bot check from Cloudflare. You do not have to solve a puzzle. If the check cannot finish, for example on a slow connection, the app asks you to try again. If it keeps failing, email us.
- The verified badge needs a 6-digit code sent by text message and a sign-in on LinkedIn's page in your browser. You can ask for a new text code with Send a new code. The badge is optional, and you can use BizMeet without it.
- We have confirmed that the main Discover actions are buttons, but we have not checked every gesture in the app for a button alternative.
- The home page has small decorative animations that loop and have no pause button. They stop if your device asks for reduced motion.
- Some website pages, such as the home, support and account deletion pages, do not have a "skip to content" link. Our legal pages have one.
- BizMeet is available in English only.
- We have not tested BizMeet with every assistive technology, such as switch access, braille displays or voice control.
If one of these gaps, or anything else, stops you from doing something in BizMeet, email us at contact@bizmeetapp.org. We will help you complete the task another way where we can. For example, you can ask us to delete your account by email, as described in Delete Your BizMeet Account. If you cannot use the Report button, you can report a member, a scam or a safety problem by email instead, as our Safety Policy and Safety Tips explains.
7. How we evaluated
Our evaluation is an internal review of the app's and website's code. We have not tested BizMeet on a device with TalkBack or any other assistive technology, and no outside accessibility expert has reviewed it. If we do more testing, we will describe it here.
The date of our last review is shown in section 9.
8. Feedback and alternative formats
Please tell us if you run into an accessibility barrier in the app or on the website. Email contact@bizmeetapp.org and include, if you can:
- What you were trying to do.
- Where it happened (the screen name or web page).
- Your device, and any assistive technology you use.
You can also email us to ask for any BizMeet document in another format. This includes our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Safety Policy and Safety Tips. For example, we can send the text as a plain-text email or a larger-print file. Tell us what works for you, and we will do our best to provide it. We do not charge for documents in another format.
We read every accessibility message and aim to reply as quickly as we can. We will tell you what we plan to do, or ask you for more details.
9. Dates
This version of the statement took effect on October 7, 2026.
It was last reviewed on September 28, 2026. We review it again when we make significant changes to the app or website, including if we offer BizMeet for iPhone.
